Biography

Gregory P. Holmbeck, Ph.D., is the director of the Idaho National Laboratory (INL) Center for Radiation Chemistry Research (CR2) and a staff scientist. Dr. Holmbeck has over 10 years of experience in the area of applied and fundamental radiation chemistry, characterized by a combination of modeling methodologies and experimental techniques, specializing in used nuclear fuel reprocessing radiation challenges and the radiation-induced redox chemistry of the actinide series. His research has taken him from the United Kingdom (The University of Manchester and the National Nuclear Laboratory, Sellafield), to France (Université Paris-Sud Laboratoire de Chimie Physique, Orsay), and currently the United States of America (California State University Long Beach, the Notre Dame Radiation Laboratory, Brookhaven National Laboratory, and INL).​
