Biography

​Dr. Bumjun Park is an energy storage postdoctoral research associate for Idaho National Laboratory. His research is focused on designing next-generation high-energy batteries and developing advanced battery life prediction methods using machine learning techniques. He earned his doctorate in chemical and biomolecular engineering from University of Notre Dame, where he was active in the Electrochemical Society, serving as president in 2021-22. While studying there, he worked on characterization and simulation of metal ion transport and coordination in polymer electrolytes for Li- and Mg-metal batteries using electrochemical and spectroscopy techniques. Analyzing experimental data using Python scientific packages, he contributed to four publications. He holds a bachelor's and master's in chemical engineering from the University of Seoul in the Republic of Korea.
