Biography

Dr. Bor-Rong (Hypo) Chen is a postdoctoral research associate in the Energy Storage Technology group at Idaho National Laboratory. Her research focuses on the development of a framework combining materials science and machine learning to predict the lifetime and aging mechanisms of lithium ion batteries. Bor-Rong has a Ph.D. from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Northwestern University and a B.Sc. from National Taiwan University. Before joining Idaho National Laboratory, Bor-Rong was a postdoctoral researcher at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, where she specialized in X-ray scattering and spectroscopy. In addition to materials characterization, Bor-Rong is also experienced in the synthesis of metastable transition metal oxides and nitrides.
