Biography

Dr. Bo Zhang is a senior staff scientist specialized in electrical engineering with balanced industrial and academic experience. He is the INL lead scientist on HVDC power system and wireless charging, and PI of multiple DOE projects. Prior to joining INL, he was a postdoc with Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a senior electrical engineer/team lead with State Grid Corporation of China. He has authored more than 30 publication articles and holds/applied six patents. He served as Committee/Session Chairs/Topic Chairs for multiple IEEE conferences including ITEC, ECCE, and ICPRE. His research interests include HVDC power system, EV charging infrastructure, wind/EV to grid integration, renewable energy, industrial power grid.​
