Biography

Dr. Redwan has joined the Energy & Environment S&T department as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Biological Processing group led by Dr. Vicki Thompson in October, 2021. Before joining here, he received his master’s and Ph.D. degree in Environmental Engineering from Texas Tech University. His research interests are in the area of Environmental Microbiology/Engineering with the emphasis on using the synergy of materials and microorganisms for bioremediation, and biogeochemical impacts of metals or materials on subsurface microbial community. At INL, he is leading a LDRD project for 2022-2024 period. He is also working on bio-recovery of rare earth elements with Dr. David Reed and Dr. Yoshiko Fujita. His avid interest in cross-disciplinary collaborations for developing new ideas and projects lead to two Department of Energy grants as Principal Investigator in his two years stay at INL.
