note = "Funding Information: The NSUF provides opportunities for access through two solicitation mechanisms and opportunities for infrastructure upgrades through two other mechanisms. Rapid Turnaround Experiment (RTE) awards provide an avenue to examine irradiation effects on nuclear fuels and materials. These awards allow researchers to utilize an NSUF facility to examine fuels or materials of interest. RTE proposals are solicited and awarded three times per year, have an expected budget of \$50,000 or less, typically involve about two weeks of time at the facility, and are completed within nine months of award. Larger projects involving neutron irradiation and PIE are executed through the Consolidated Innovative Nuclear Research FOA. This opportunity occurs once per year and involves projects up to \$4M in value that may take several years to complete. This opportunity also includes options for a researcher to receive R\&D funds in addition to NSUF access. The Scientific Infrastructure Support for Consolidated Innovative Nuclear Research (CINR) funding opportunity announcement (FOA) program is administered by the Nuclear Science User Facilities on behalf of DOE-NE. Scientific Infrastructure CINR proposals are solicited and awarded on an annual basis. The FOA has two areas for universities to apply for funding: Reactor Upgrades and General Scientific Infrastructure. For infrastructure investments within DOE{\textquoteright}s National Laboratories, the NSUF performs a gap analysis to identify and prioritize investment needs.; 2018 Pacific Basin Nuclear Conference, PBNC 2018 ; Conference date: 30-09-2018 Through 04-10-2018",
