Abstract
As options for renewable energy continue to be developed, there is a growing need for energy storage. Promising experiments towards efficient thermal energy storage have employed the use of nanoparticles in cement and phase-change materials (PCMs). However, the use of macroparticles in cement and PCMs has been considered and is being tested due to the benefits regarding cost, time, and safety. Experiments using macroparticles in the cement core were performed and results show a successful increase in thermal efficiency.
