Abstract

The Interactive Synchronization Matrix ("Synch Matrix") is a web-based tool that aims to facilitate local emergency planning exercises and improve coordination of incident response efforts. The Synch Matrix enables users to create custom hazard scenarios and visualize roles, responsibilities, and actions in a well-organized chronological format. Its primary purpose is to assist emergency planners in determining the most suitable responders for an incident, identifying any major obstacles or delays in the collective response process, and exploring alternative options if essential actions cannot be carried out. Users can create new hazard scenarios, modify existing ones, and collaborate with others by sharing scenarios for simultaneous collaboration.
