Abstract
Through a metallurgical approach to alloy design, advanced Nd-Fe-B alloys were developed which formed nanocrystalline composite microstructures after devitrification. Atomisation processing of these new alloys resulted in significant improvements in hard magnetic properties over previous alloys, allowing the possibility of high volume, low cost production by atomisation methods.
