N2 - A Particle swarm optimization-based PID controller for uniforming power in the dynamic charging of electric vehicles is proposed. Dynamic charging is a promising technology for charging electric vehicles in motion. Increasing driving range and reducing the battery size and cost are the prominent advantages of dynamic charging. Segmented coil array is the most efficient transmitter's coil structure and provides low EMI. However, this structure suffers from power fluctuation on the battery side, which is deteriorating the battery's health over time. To solve this issue, a dc-dc boost converter is added to the primary side which is controlled by a PSO-based PID controller for minimizing power pulsation and providing a smooth power profile. For validating the effectiveness of the proposed controller, a 60 km/h case study has been analyzed. The results of the proposed controller showed a ±5% fluctuation in the output power which indicates the effectiveness of the proposed controller.
