Abstract

The Gram-Schmidt orthonormalization procedure is presented as a numerical method easily adaptable to digital computation for the soltuion to steady-state ground-water flow problems. The advantages of this method are: (i) A series solution is attined and (ii) arbitrary shaped aquifers with arbitrary boundary conditions can be handled. The method is illustrated by application to a well flow problem in a confined acquifer
