N2 - The restart of TREAT represents a unique opportunity for SFR development, both domestically and internationally. TREAT. Historically, TREAT played a critical role in developing the knowledgebase of the transient performance of both metallic and oxide fuels including negative feedback effects, axial locations of fuel failure and related dispersal, fuel freezing, Na interactions, and eutectic formations. TREAT's unique capabilities, complemented by out-of-pile experiments, will provide the international community access to the resources required to enable advanced reactor deployment.
