Abstract

Solid ionic conductors may act more "intelligent" than in common potentiometric sensors to provide a signal for the gas pressure if kinetic aspects are included. Problems of the application of reference electrodes, response time and cross-sensitivity may be overcome. This new generation of sensors allows higher reliability, confidence, precision and the simultaneous detection of several species.
