Abstract

Activation calculations are made for a simple, standard blanket design previously described and used for several benchmark calculations. The structural material is 316 stainless steel and the neutron fluxes used are the results of a 100 energy group, S//4-P//3 calculation in an infinite cylinder geometry using the DTF-IV code. Thirty-nine separate reactions, involving all fourteen of the major isotopes of stainless steel and producing thirty-two radioactive species, are considered in the calculation of the blanket activity and decay power.
