Implementing Type-driven System Architecture to Eliminate Code injections in Cyber-Physical Systems

Research output: Contribution to conferencePoster

Abstract

A type system approach to Lang-Sec used to protect critical infrastructure from code injection attacks by parsing commands from untrusted nodes connected to the network. Taking advantage of the well-defined strong, statically typed commands in cyber-physical systems to write all possible inputs in a formal language.  Rust’s rich type system allows parser to act as an interpreter for that language, rejecting all invalid inputs.
