Abstract
As “smart” devices become progressively used daily, the risk for cyber-attacks within a household or organization increases. Appling Zero Trust Architecture, the continual evaluation of trust within the framework of a digital environment, allows for only authorized devices, applications, and individuals to have access to their organization's digital environment and data; thus, decreasing the amount of risk associated with the digital environment. Using Laboratory Directed Research and Development, Zero Trust Architecture can be applied to different devices within a test bed to be further analyzed for a codified model of architecture, threats, and defenses all together for cyber defenders to further protect complex critical infrastructures.
