Abstract
The transformation of spherical alumina powders precipitated from an aluminum sulfate solution was studied using a combination of X‐ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy. Particles calcined at 900°C consisted of poly‐crystalline γ‐alumina which transformed to essentially single‐crystal a‐alumina on further calcination.
