Abstract
The mechanisms of droplet transfer in pulse current GMAW were studied using high-speed video and through the arc sensing. The droplet transfer mode and arc length were measured using the video data. Records of the current and voltage as a function of time were correlated with the video data. The effects of the pulse frequency and the pulse period on the timing and mode of the droplet transfer were observed.
