Abstract
It is the aim of this work to study hydrogen sorption and diffusion in Pd//8//4//. //5Si//1//5//. //5 alloy (amorphous and crystalline), and to compare the data obtained with similar characteristics for pure Pd. It was found that the concentrations of sorbed hydrogen found in Pd//8//4//. //5-Si//1//5//. //5 amorphous alloy at the potentials of the alpha -phase are somewhat higher than those found in palladium. It was found when estimating the ratio between dissolved and adsorbed hydrogen that in the amorphous alloy, the amount of dissolved hydrogen is about an order of magnitude larger than that of adsorbed hydrogen. Electrochemical studies of hydrogen sorption have demonstrated a decrease of hydrogen solubility in the order of: Pd greater than Pd//8//4//. //5Si//1//5//. //5 amorphous alloy greater than Pd//8//4//. //5Si//1//5//. //5 crystalline alloy.
