Abstract

This paper will outline the fundamental design requirements and thermal/hydraulic computational fluid dynamics analysis for the SIRIUS-4/PRIME-1 experiment slated for irradiation in a test reactor at the Idaho National Laboratory. It will describe salient design features developed through iterative design and analysis to meet the programmatic design requirements, withstand conditions inside the reactor, and ensure that the design was inside the established safety envelope for irradiation in the reactor.
