Abstract
A large number of test calculations in two-dimensional hexagonal geometry for different configurations of SUPER-PHENIX 1 type Fast Reactor have been performed to compare finite difference theory vs finite element theory performances. At present, no definitive advantages were found for the application of the finite element method to two-dimensional hexagonal design calculations.
