Biography

Tom Walters works in the Materials Science and Engineering department and is the founder of the Unconventional Material Characterization Laboratory (UMCL), the primary mission of which is quantification of mechanical properties of systems and components using unconventional test methods. He holds a master’s in measurement and control engineering and a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering from Idaho State University. He serves as adjunct faculty in ISU’s Department of Mechanical Engineering.
