Biography

Dr. Sudipta Biswas is a Computational Scientist in the Computational Mechanics and Materials group within the Nuclear Science and Technology division at INL. Her research area focuses on developing multi-physics models to capture material behavior in extreme environments such as material processing, irradiation, etc. She has extensive experience in developing and applying phase-field and mechanics models for simulating microstructural evolution and material behavior using MOOSE, including high burnup structure formation and fission gas bubble evolution in nuclear fuel, pore evolution and grain growth in reactor conditions, densification during sintering process, solidification and grain formation during additive manufacturing processes, etc.  She graduated from Purdue University with a doctorate in Aeronautics and Astronautics Engineering, specializing in Structures and Materials, in December 2017.
