Biography

Steve Warmann is a project manager and project engineer in the Pyrochemistry and Molten Salt Systems department at Materials and Fuels Complex.  He received his education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Washington University in Saint Louis.  His technical career began at Argonne National Laboratory, East, in 2002. Since that time, he has held project leadership roles for a variety of Department of Energy contractors.  He has been with INL since 2014 focusing on deployment of nuclear fuel recycling and post-irradiation examination systems in INL nuclear facilities. 

Mr. Warmann's expertise is focused on nuclear remote processes, molten salt systems as they relate to molten salt reactors, electrochemical recycling of used nuclear fuels, nuclear operations, and waste management.  He recently served as the project manager for the U.S. - South Korea Joint Fuel Cycle Studies, helping lead the successful commissioning and demonstration of a nuclear fuel recycling line at the Hot Fuel Examination Facility.  He is currently the project manager for the National Reactor Innovation Center's Molten Salt Thermophysical Examination Capability, a modular
