Biography

Stephen Reese leads the Geothermal Energy and Subsurface Systems Group at Idaho National Laboratory. Over the course of his career, he has developed laser-based methods for examination of physical properties of material microstructure, and he has been responsible for coordinating biological, chemical, and radiological hazard decontamination test programs.  Currently, as the program lead for the Water Security Test Bed, his research focuses on decontamination and resilience of water system critical infrastructure. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Columbia University and is a licensed professional engineer. He has authored/co-authored 17 journal articles and conference papers, and he currently serves as an affiliate faculty member in the Computer Science department at Boise State University.
