Biography

Seongtae Kwon is a staff scientist at Idaho National Laboratory (INL). He holds a Ph. D. in materials science and engineering awarded under Prof. Gary Messing from the Pennsylvania State University in 1997. His research interest is processing and characterization of ceramic materials of various fields including structural, piezoelectric, dielectric and nuclear ceramics. He has proven successes in enhancing and modifying ceramic material properties through refining composition, fabrication process and microstructural controls. Before joined INL he work as a director of ceramic and dielectric division at TRS Technologies between 2002 and 2106.  He has published in over 30 peer-reviewed professional publications. Currently, Dr. Kwon is a staff scientist working on fission product release retention test for HPRR and LDRD programs.
