Biography

Robert Dean Seifert is an electrical research and design scientist and engineer at the Idaho National Laboratory. Since 2009 he has been involved in design and implementation of munitions and cargo inspection systems that utilizes high power X-Rays, linear accelerators, and detectors. He has successfully integrated modern digital imaging systems into field grade X-Ray systems improving response, clarity, and improving mission response characteristics while eliminating hazardous waste from film processing. He has worked as a primary researcher and very effectively in teams, and he has also performed his research and design in concert with other experienced instrumentation and control engineers to incorporate proper components, limits, procedures, and code needed to safely and efficiently run the all the systems components in unison. He holds a bachelor’s in electrical engineering from Montana Tech of the University of Montana. He has twice received the INL Exceptional Contributions Program Award.
