Biography

Peter German is a Computational Scientist at Idaho National Laboratory (INL). He holds a doctorate in Nuclear Engineering from Texas A&M University and he received a bachelor's and a master's degree in Energy Engineering from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BUTE), Hungary. At INL, he is involved in the development of the Multiphysics Object-Oriented Simulation Environment (MOOSE) which is commonly used for the simulation of nuclear systems. He has contributed to a wide variety of functionalities including the the finite volume method (FVM) based fluid dynamic solvers, uncertainty quantification and integrated machine learning (ML) solutions. Beyond this, he is interested in surrogate modeling methods for complex multiphysics problems, especially reduced-basis techniques.
