Dr. Nicholas Kane is a materials scientist working in the Hydrogen and Electrochemistry department at the Idaho National Laboratory. His research focuses on solid oxide electrochemical devices, working to understand degradation phenomenon and decrease cost to enable commercialization. His work includes materials fabrication, cell testing and analysis, and safe test system design. He has previous experience developing thin film deposition and surface modification techniques to improve the catalytic activity and durability of solid oxide devices. He holds both a PhD and bachelor’s in Materials Science and Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
