Biography

Dr. Nepu Saha is a Research Scientist at Idaho National Laboratory (INL), where he has been instrumental in advancing research since May 2021. With a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Florida Institute of Technology and an extensive background that includes roles in academia and industry, Dr. Saha brings a wealth of expertise to his work. His research focuses on deconstruction and recycling of biomass, municipal solid and plastic wastes for biorefinery feedstock. He also focuses on the development of co-products (e.g., syngas, adsorbent, functionalized material, thermal insulation) from those wastes via thermochemical treatments (e.g., gasification, pyrolysis, torrefaction, hydrothermal carbonization). He has been honored with the Outstanding Postdoc of 2022 award at INL and the Outstanding Student of 2019-2020 at the Florida Institute of Technology. Dr. Saha has secured several funding for his innovative projects from the Department of Energy and has an impressive record of over 40 publications in high-impact journals. He is a respected speaker at the conferences, sharing his insights on waste management, biomass conversion, and energy security.
