Biography

Dr. Michael Worrall joined the Idaho National Laboratory in 2021 as a nuclear engineer in the Irradiation Experiment Neutronic Analysis group. In his current role he is focused on using state-of-the-art Monte Carlo tools to analyze experiments in the Advanced Test Reactor (ATR) and the ATR Critical Facility (ATR-C). Before joining INL, Michael worked for 10 years as a nuclear engineer for the Naval Nuclear Laboratory focusing on core physics analysis and fleet support of the U.S. Nuclear Navy. He earned his bachelor's degree in Engineering Physics, his master’s in Mechanical Engineering, and his doctorate in Nuclear Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. He was recognized in both 2010 and 2011 by the U.S. Department of Energy Innovations in Fuel Cycle Research Award.
