Dr. Micah Casteel is a senior mechanical design engineer at Idaho National Laboratory involved in researching hydrogen and thermal systems. He specializes in solving problems that lie between classical engineering disciplines and the development of proof of concept. He comes to Idaho Falls from Littleton, Colorado, where he was founder and chief engineer at BEYONDElectrons, a company involved in energy conversion and storage and advanced instrumentation and controls design. He holds a doctorate from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in materials design and engineering, and a bachelor’s from LeTourneau University, where he majored in mechanical engineering and materials joining engineering. His other skills include business development, manufacturing, and computer programming.
