Biography

Dr. Luiza Albuquerque is an analytical chemist at the Analytical Research Laboratory (ARL) at Idaho National Laboratory's Materials and Fuels Complex. Her work focuses on data evaluation for all the analytical techniques in the ARL, such as counting techniques, ICP-MS and ICP OES, ensuring that the results generated are in accordance with the laboratory quality plan and meet the requester needs. She also performs Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) analysis and is involved in research activities, focusing on methods development for sample preparation using microwave-assisted digestion and elements determination using High Resolution ICP-MS instrumentation.    

Prior to INL, she worked as a Visiting Researcher at the Institute for Technological Research of Sao Paulo State (Brazil), where she developed analytical methods for rare earth elements determination in metals and metallurgical materials by ICP OES and ICP-MS.
