Biography

Dr. Ling Ding is a postdoctoral research associate at Idaho National Laboratory, researching electrochemical impedance instrumentation for monitoring corrosion formation (oxide and hydride) on cladding materials. She earned her doctorate in civil engineering from Clemson University and her master’s from Purdue University. She received her bachelor’s, in environmental science, from Minzu University of China, in Beijing. As a graduate research assistant at Clemson, she evaluated the influence of surface mechanical attrition treatment (SMAT) on the behavior of steels in the civil engineering department’s laboratory, using scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM) and AC impedance to study the ionic conductivity within electrode-electrolyte interfaces and in the bulk electrolyte. She is skilled in data analysis and visualization (Python, SASs and AutoCAD, etc.)
