Dr. Laura Bonatti is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Idaho National Laboratory (INL) in the Thermal Properties group within the Nuclear Materials Performance department.
Her work at INL involved conducting experimental thermodynamic studies to characterize materials relevant to the nuclear fuel cycle, using techniques such as differential scanning calorimetry and nanocalorimetry.
Dr. Bonatti completed her Ph.D. in experimental thermodynamics at Arizona State University in 2025, where she was a member of the Alexandra Navrotsky group. Her research focused on the development, characterization, and optimization of advanced materials, including high pressure materials and non oxides. Prior to her doctoral studies, she received a bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering from the University of Sao Paulo in 2020.
