Biography

Dr. Ken Marsden received his education in Nuclear Engineering and Material Science and Engineering from Texas A&M University and completed his Ph.D. from the University of Idaho.

He worked at the Argonne National Laboratory-West from 1995-2005 and has been with Idaho National Laboratory since 2005. His technical experience centers around the research, development, and operation of remote processes – most often high temperature chemical and electrochemical processes –for the recycling of useful components of used nuclear fuel. As a part of these efforts, he has worked on high temperature chemistry, electrochemical processes, and fuel fabrication.

Ken served as the Technical Director for the recent Joint Fuel Cycle Study for the DOE Office of Nuclear Energy, and he is currently Technical Director for the Material Recovery and Waste Form Development Campaign.  Ken is the manager of INL's Pyrochemistry and Molten Salt Systems department.
