Biography

Johanna Oxstrand is a senior human factors scientist in Idaho National Laboratory’s Department of Human Factors, Controls and Statistics. She is an experienced project manager and principal investigator within multiple U.S. Department of Energy programs, most recently for an effort to commercialize highly dynamic electronic work instructions for advanced reactors in partnership with GSE Systems, a control room simulator vendor. She has led two large industry initiatives: Nuclear Work Packages – Enterprise Requirements (NEWPER) in 2016 and Dynamic Instructions Editing Tool Requirements (DIRECTOR) in 2019. She holds a master’s in software engineering and technology from Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden. Before joining INL in 2010, she led human factors and human reliability assessment activities at the Ringhals Nuclear Power Plant in Sweden.
