Joey joined Idaho National Laboratory in 2011 as a scientist at the Materials and Fuels Complex Research Analytical Laboratory. While at the lab, Joey has designed experiments and performed work in hot cells, gloveboxes, and hoods throughout the Analytical Laboratory. Joey has experience working on projects in radiochemistry and pyroprocessing. He has designed and used several gas systems in the Analytical Laboratory, including the hot cell corrosive gas introduction systems, hot cell gas mixing manifolds, and entrained gas collection systems. Joey is currently working on qualifications to become the subject matter expert for the Nu high-resolution gas-MS and its associated gas handling manifold.
Analytical chemistry, radiochemistry, pyroprocessing, fission product and burn up analysis of nuclear fuels.
The development of gas delivery and collection systems used in nuclear research experiments and process including entrained fission gas collection systems and corrosive gas delivery systems. These systems have been used in hot cells and glovebox environments for research involving spent nuclear fuel.
