Biography

Dr. Malizia is a research scientist in Idaho National Laboratory’s Transient Kinetics Group. With extensive knowledge of optics and spectroscopy, his focus is the development of new operando spectroscopy techniques that push the limits of sensitivity and temporal resolution to study the behavior, evolution, and deactivation of heterogenous catalysts. He is currently working on incorporating operando spectroscopy with the Temporal Analysis of Products (TAP) experiment, advanced in situ spectroscopic methodologies, dynamic catalysis, and photocatalysis. Jason holds a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and received his B.S. in Chemistry at Ohio University. He came to INL in February 2022 as a postdoctoral researcher and became a full-time employee in February 2023.
