Biography

Jarin French graduated with a BS degree in Physics from BYU-Idaho, and with his MS and PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from Virginia Tech. During his PhD, he examined grain boundary mobility in nuclear fuels using molecular dynamics simulation. He currently works at Idaho National Laboratory where he uses lower length scale models (ab initio, molecular dynamics, cluster dynamics) to study thermal transport in nuclear fuels under the Thermal Energy Transport Under Irradiation (TETI) program.

Research Interests

Nuclear fuels, lower length scale simulation methodologies, grain boundary properties, software development
