Dr. Heramb P. Mahajan is postdoctoral research associate at Idaho National Laboratory whose areas of expertise include high temperature alloys, creep fatigue design and evaluation, non-linear analysis, and constitutive modeling. He has performed mechanical and microstructural characterization of diffusion bonded material at elevated temperature under tension, creep, fatigue and creep-fatigue loads and led material performance evaluation in the Multidisciplinary Integrated Research Project funded by Department of Energy to develop design code rules for diffusion bonded compact heat exchangers in nuclear applications. He holds a doctorate in civil engineering from North Carolina State University, where he also earned his master’s in civil engineering. He received his bachelor’s in civil engineering from Sardar Patel College of Engineering in Mumbai, India. He received the Paul & Dora Zia Graduate Fellowship Award in Spring 2020 in recognition of exceptional research in structural engineering and mechanics.
