Biography

Dr. Gordon Petersen is currently a Spent Fuel Analyst at Idaho National Laboratory (INL) in the Nuclear Science & Technology Directorate where he has been employed since 2018. In this role, Dr. Petersen provides technical support in the areas of used fuel storage, transportation, and disposal. Prior to joining INL, Dr. Petersen worked as graduate research assistant at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (2013-2016) . His education includes a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Tennessee. His subject matter expertise includes used fuel storage, transportation and disposal, used fuel system analysis and economic evaluations, nuclear criticality analysis, and systems modelling.
