Biography

Dr. Gabriel Ilevbare is the manager for Idaho National Laboratory's Materials Science and Manufacturing Department. He is responsible for operational and technical management of activities within the department, including strategic planning and implementation, goal setting, funds management, talent acquisition and development, cross institutional as well as external interfaces.

​Dr. Ilevbare earned his doctorate in materials science and metallurgy and specializes in materials development, degradation, and maintenance. He has over 25 years of experience in this field. Before joining Idaho National Laboratory, he was employed at the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) in Palo Alto, California, where he led national and international technical networks and alliances of utility engineers, manufacturers, research organizations, consultants, and academics in collaborative endeavors for creating, building, and sharing resources for effective management of technical issues related to the energy generation industry. He helped develop long-term strategic management of power plant components to ensure safety and reliability for nuclear power plant operations. He has also worked on programs of national importance in nuclear waste stewardship and aerospace.

Dr. Ilevbare holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Metallurgy from the University of Cambridge, UK, and a B.S. in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria.
