Dr. Eliezer Reyes is a postdoctoral research associate at Idaho National Laboratory working in the Bioenergy Feedstock Technologies Group. His research projects are focused on understanding equipment design and operations principles that enable the transport, handling, and conversion into fuels and generate baseload power generation. The scope of his research is to identify key feedstock attributes that would impact the overall process economics, environmental impact, product quality and process energy efficiency. These projects goals contribute to DOE's mission of energy security and energy independence through the utilization of national biomass and waste resources.

​He earned his doctorate in Forest Biomaterials (Bioenergy and Biofuels) at North Carolina State University, where he studied the effect of biomass feedstock on thermochemical derived products for pure and binary mixtures and by-products upgrading scenarios. He studied Chemical Engineering at Universidad de Los Andes. Dr. Reyes has authored 4 scientific publications and can communicate fluently in English, Spanish, and French.
