Casey researches electric vehicle (EV) charging behavior and EV charging reliability. Prior to joining Idaho National Laboratory (INL), he was a Research Scientist at Colorado State University and a Mechatronics Engineer at Access Sensor Technologies where he worked the development of low-cost air and water monitors, techno-economic evaluations of engineering systems and processes, energy systems modeling, embedded firmware and smartphone application development, and data analysis. While pursuing his master’s degree he evaluated the economic viability of providing grid services with plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) and he was an intern at INL where he assisted with PHEV data analysis and the Department of Energy (DOE) EV project.
Casey has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Kansas State University, a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado State University, and a Ph.D. in Environmental Health from Colorado State University.
