Biography

Brian M. Bucher is a nuclear physicist in the National & Homeland Security directorate of Idaho National Laboratory (INL). Since joining INL in 2016, his research activities have included prompt gamma-ray neutron activation analysis for the identification of potential threat items, as well as isotope production and decay spectroscopy relevant for nuclear forensics, safeguards, and other applications. Brian completed his PhD in nuclear structure and astrophysics in 2014 at the University of Notre Dame followed by a 2-year postdoctoral appointment at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
