Biography

Dr. Birendra Adhikari is a staff scientist at Idaho National Laboratory (INL) with background in membrane separation, process modeling and optimization, carbon capture, and utilization. Dr. Adhikari holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, an MS in Chemical Engineering from University of Colorado (CU) Boulder, and a BS in Chemical Engineering (Honors) from Texas A&M University. Dr. Adhikari has more than thirteen years of expertise in membrane-based separation process development that includes liquid-liquid, solid-liquid, and gas separation. Desalination, biofuel separation, product purification, air separation, carbon dioxide enrichment and capture are some of the areas of Dr. Adhikari's interest. Dr. Adhikari has expertise in other areas of research such as catalysis, electrochemistry, techno-economic and life-cycle assessment of different chemical processes.
