Biography

Austin Matthews joined the Idaho National Laboratory in October 2014 as an intern in the Biofuels and Renewable Energy Technology Department. In February of 2015 he was hired on full time as a technician. His primary tasks include assisting with characterization of biomass materials relating to thermochemical conversion processes. He also designs components for many of the various pieces of equipment used in the characterization process to improve efficiency and ensure safety.

Before joining the INL Austin received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Utah.
