Biography

Akhil Ashar is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Computational Mechanics and Materials Department at Idaho National Laboratory, where he contributes to computational modeling of molten salt corrosion and related multiphysics problems using the MOOSE framework.
 
He earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines, where his research focused on computational modeling of electrochemical energy systems, including solid oxide and protonic ceramic cells, hydrogen production, and high-efficiency hybrid power systems. His work spans electrochemical transport, heat and mass transfer, multiscale modeling, and system-level analysis. His research has been published in peer-reviewed journals including Applied EnergyEnergy Conversion and Management, and the Journal of Electrochemical Society.
